Trip to Red Deer

Traveling with 2 kids can be interesting! But we had fun, and they were really good while in the vehicle... We enjoyed seeing everybody in Red Deer and we even made a quick trip to see our newest addition to the family in Edmonton. We would have loved to spend more time visiting more relatives, and hopefully we don't wait too long to go on a road trip again!
We all got spoiled again for Christmas. Now we wonder how we ever lived without a GPS Navigation system. Meagan thinks it's so neat that "Lynda" as she calls her, tells us to turn left or right. And she makes sure to repeat the directions to us. We'll never get lost in Edmonton again!
The kids have been enjoying all the new toys, and we have to admit, Grant and I have been playing with them too! They are all so neat! Meagan now gets to play DVD games on the TV while a little camera places her on the screen too so she can interact with the characters. She can make a cake or dance with Blues Clues, and go fishing with Dora, etc. It's so neat! A big THANK you to everyone who gave us Christmas gifts! We hope you ahve a terrific Christmas!! Gotta run!!

Fun for all...

Well, Christmas has come and gone, and today we are organizing our house to put away all our nice gifts from family and friends... We are planning to leave for Edmonton, and then Red Deer, whenever we get our butts in gear. Caleb had a nice FIRST Christmas, but let Meagan open most of his gifts... Grant picked out a nice Thomas the Train set, for the kids, but really it was more for his enjoyment... The kids do think it's pretty fun. And Meagan was so impressed with Santa for getting her a Dora kitchen set.
Gotta run, and pack for our trip! Hope you had a great Christmas!

All I want for Christmas...

We just had our Kids' gift exchange with a group of our friends, and Santa just thought he'd drop by as well!! Can you tell who Santa is? Well, Meagan knew within seconds.... Can't fool her! But she had fun anyway. Anything to do with Santa, or Christmas, she calls HO HO. She's been asking to put up our HO HO Tree and our HO HO Lights.

And Caleb didn't have his usual smiles for these pictures, as he was tired. But at least he wasn't scared, as it seems there's always a little one who ends up crying on Santa's knee. It was a fun day had by all, and I ended up taking 355 pictures of everyone. Of course, I had to put a few on this blog... But I better get some work done... Until we meet again...

She's now 3!

Well, 3 years have gone by so fast!! I've been looking at some of her baby pictures and videos, and can't believe she's such a big girl already! She had so much fun at her birthday parties, and we've been playing with all her new toys, and watching her new videos, and wearing her new clothes! I hope you enjoy the pictures.... just thought I'd post some real quick. Meagan's wanting to play her Dora computer game, so I'm getting kicked off. Hope you have a great day!

Getting into the Spirit

It's been a while, but I'm taking a little time to add some more photos... Caleb's crawling around (yup, that's right, my baby is crawling!!!) around the living room, and Meagan is at her friend's house. These pictures were taken at Grandma Claudia's house, as we decorated the tree. Meagan is getting very anxious for her Birthday and Christmas this month. We talk about it every day!! Sheis just learning about Baby Jesus' birthday.
She wants him to come to her Birthday party for Cake too!!

We read the Christmas stories every night, and we are using her Calendar every day to count down to each event. Can't believe she'll be THREE right away!! She's such a big girl. This year has gone by the FASTEST ever, and it's probably because we have 2 to keep us busy! Soon Caleb will be 1 and that'll be so weird, as he was only a baby for such a small time!!!

Grant's been up North for work quite a bit in the past couple weeks, and he'll be gone again tomorrow for 12 days, so infortunatly he'll miss out on Meagan's Birthday Party, and a few Christmas Parties we were invited to. But this is his busy season, and he's got quite a bit of work lined up. He misses the kids so much, and they miss him!!

Time to get lunch for my boy! Mushy peas and carrots, yum yum!!

Snow much fun

Boy winter sure came fast! Can't beleive how much snow we have!! Caleb had his first experience sitting in the snow... and Meagan loves helping her Daddy shovel the snow with her new shovel. Had to bite my tongue from saying "I told you so..." as I had warned Grant to put my winter tires on that came with my van. After getting stuck in his parents yard, guess who's getting her tires put on? I guess I should be thankful that I wasn't the one getting stuck with the kids in the van...
AND my little boy is now "kinda" crawling forwards! I call it the "worm" move, as he moves forward an inch at a time. Got on on video before he's really crawling. It's so cute. BUT, now I really have to watch him!! I went to grab my laundry, and I heard Meagan say... Baby broke the light. (He had crawled under the coffee table and unplugged the lamp). I will actually appreciate when Meagan "Tells" on him. It seems like just a short time ago he was pushing himself backwards all over my kitchen, and I missed catching that on video!
Meagan's at her friend's house today, so I better try to catch up on things while Caleb has a nap! Later

Playing with the camera again

Boy, there is so much to learning about taking good photos... but now I'm actually taking time to read some good How to books... Thanks to you Adrienne! Having someone come to your house to take photos lets you see it's really not that hard.. just takes some practice... Poor kids are seeing a camera atached to my face quite often..
But then, I took a look at how many little video clips I take of them, and I don't take enough!! I was just reliving a few moments, looking back at Meagan on video... Boy she's a cute kid! I miss her baby talk, cuz now she's all grown up.
I may try to put a video clip on here for your enjoyment.(if it works!)
My mission today: To try to get that husband of mine to take photos of me and my kids, since I can count on my hand how many of these I have :)

Fire of 2007

Grant decided to burn up our old deck one night... Meagan sure loved watching it burn, but was sad that her Daddy put her "pumpkins" (bags of leaves) in the fire... She had filled them up with me, and was great helper.

So, since I haven't written in forever, a little update... Caleb is getting his 6th tooth coming in already. Now he finally has 2 front teeth. I weight both Caleb and Meagan, and was amused by the numbers... Caleb is 31.5 pounds and 31.5 inches tall.. Wanna guess for Meagan... She is 39 pounds and 39 inches tall.. Neat huh? Same weight and height..

Hmmm, not much else in news around here... I started painting the bathroom (1st painting experience) and I am so thankfull Latex washes off!! I also learned that I need to pick my colors BETTER... I thought it would be a tan brown, but it was a pasty mustard yellow... oops! Needed another coat anyway, so I will go pick out a better color.

Tonight we have an "Bring your own Appetizer' bday party to go to with friends, and Grant is looking through cookbooks, and online for recipies. It's kinda funny, he's never done that before. And after all that, he settled on the 2 appetizers I was planning on making. Bacon wrapped scallops and stuffed mushrooms. But he's making them right now, so they're "his". Men huh?
Well, now he wants to check a recipe online again... maybe he'll start cooking more often! Later
